Why is this whiskey named after Michael Collins?

Michael Collins is a hero in Irish history. Affectionately known as “The Big Fellow,”
he was the spearhead of Ireland's struggle for independence and signed the Anglo-Irish
Treaty of 1921, which made Ireland an independent country for the first time in
over 700 years. Michael Collins was a visionary who realized that Ireland was poised
for greatness. He understood the importance of retaining culture and heritage but
knew that as an independent country, Ireland could flourish. Almost a century after
his death, Ireland has become the prosperous, economically successful country that
Michael Collins envisaged. As a tribute to him and his efforts, Michael Collins
Irish Whiskeys celebrate a new age in Ireland and in Irish Whiskey - they are brands
with contemporary values, a mix of innovation and time-honored tradition.

Why isn't Michael Collins triple-distilled like most other Irish whiskeys?

times the whiskey should be distilled is a decision for the Master Blender. To be

for at least 3 years.
Michael Collins Whiskeys are purposely double-distilled to retain the flavors of
the natural ingredients. By triple distilling the whiskey, some of these distinct
flavors and characteristics that make the whiskey so unique would be lost.
How does Michael Collins Single Malt taste compared to other single
malts from Ireland?

Michael Collins Single Malt has a lightly peated style. It is made at the only distillery
in Ireland to use peated barley, therefore it has a very unique style compared with
a single malt from another distillery in Ireland.
Where is the Michael Collins Distillery located?

The distillery is in Co. Louth which is approximately one hour north of Dublin.
